A LETTER FROM LISA CLARK

This Fall I was invited to the Balkans were I taught in Slovenia and Serbia. I found a community engaged in a vibrant discussion and exploration of the process of embodiment in the current context of their lives, politics, place and education.

I teach workshops in many places in the world where I do not share the local language or history, but I know that embodiment becomes its own shared vernacular and container were we can safely meet, hold space and witness each other. As we inhabit our bodies, we experience the myriad pathways of communication, relationship and choice available to us. An embodied life is the infrastructure for our empathy, compassion for self and others, and how we engage with the world.

Home in North Carolina, I am pleased to announce we will be offering the EmbodiYoga® Yoga & Somatic 200 Hour Teacher Training at Joy Of Movement in Pittsboro, March - December 2019. The 300 Hour Training continues with Module Two: Contents & Container, February - May 2019 at EVOLVE in Raleigh. Modules can be taken individually or applied to the full program. These courses provide fresh insight for teachers who have already completed a 200/300 hour training and wish to study yoga from a somatic perspective, and appropriate for anyone seeking a foundation for a deeply informed practice and approach for all types of students.

EmbodiYoga® is licensed by the School for Body-Mind Centering®, and is offering The BMC & Yoga Immersion Series: Foundations In Embodied Anatomy. Amy Matthews and I are teaching the 6 part series at The Dallas Yoga Center in Dallas Texas. Homeostasis: Endocrine Tissues,Nerve & Immune Systems is our next workshop in January and April.

I am grateful for a wonderful year of teaching and travel, for friendships and colleagues at home and around the world, and forever thankful for our growing EmbodiYoga® community.

Sending you warm winter wishes on this snowy day in December. May you always tend to your inner light and heart’s fire.

FOUNDATIONS IN EMBODIED ANATOMY
Homeostasis: ENDOCRINE TISSUES,
NERVE & IMMUNE SYSTEMS

DALLAS YOGA CENTER • Dallas, TX
2 Weekends: January 4-6, 2019 &
April 26-28, 2019

Homeostasis is a dynamic and shifting state of constant communication and inter-responsiveness. The Endocrine, Nervous and Immune Systems play a primary role in shaping and modulating this organism-wide balance. When we clarify the roles of these systems we begin to unravel commonly held assumptions about specific things like sympathetic / parasympathetic, the role of the pituitary gland, or the idea that immune cells are all about defense, as well as bigger ideas about balancing ‘being and doing.’ Exploring homeostasis can help us understand personal and transpersonal states of consciousness, and change how we perceive ourselves in the moment and in the environment.

"Why embodiyoga®?"

ALLIEpic.gif

I come from the world of Pilates, and am the owner of Equilibrium Pittsburgh Pilates & Yoga. Which I love, but a few years ago I started to feel like there was something missing for myself and my students. I just couldn’t put my finger on it. I just knew that I didn’t feel like I owned my journey. My process and teaching seemed overly complicated with muscle groups and isolated fine- tuned cueing. My students were always looking to me instead of owning their movement experience. I began a journey of searching for that missing something.
