A LETTER FROM LISA CLARK

After a very active Summer, it has been an unusually rocky transition to Fall. I find myself paying extra attention to the daily comforts and rituals that keep me steady in times of change. Between the hurricane and its aftermath here in North Carolina, and a persistent virus I have been sick with this month, a daily practice of Yoga Nidra and Restorative Yoga has been essential.

The ability to trust and attune to my body’s day to day processing of events has been imperative. It has meant slowing down, less busyness, and supporting myself with a practice that creates deep rest and quiet in order to help me assimilate and balance.

Like the seasons, Yoga is always cycling back on itself. The moving inwards is primary in order for us to remember our fundamental ground of being. The on going practice of self- support helps to counterbalance the every day activity of moving outwards with our attention, and the continuous relationship between the two. Where ever we are at any given moment, Yoga is a living process that offers us the opportunity to come home to ourselves.

Wishing you a wonderful Fall,
Lisa Clark

In this course we’ll explore fluids as a body system and their dynamic role in communicating within our tissues to negotiate tone and create change. With fluids as our ground, we’ll explore muscles as an interdependent whole body source of strength, mobility, and power that balances action, rest, stillness and presence.

embodiyoga® Teacher Spotlight:
Sarah Jackson
Why embodiyoga®?

Sarah-Jackson-photo.jpg

EmbodiYoga® significantly deepened my understanding of myself. Since I was a small child I had experienced panic attacks, my ‘breathing problem’ was labeled as anxiety that needed therapy and medication. It wasn't until college I began to look at the philosophy of yoga to help frame my understanding of the mind and body.
I found Lisa Clark’s 200 Hour Embodiyoga® Teacher Training in 2013 when my husband was getting out of the army and I wanted to peruse a deeper understanding of the mind-body connection.
