The Body Systems In The Practice of Yoga
Equilibrium Pittsburgh Pilates & Yoga,

Pittsburgh, PA
May 18-19, 2019

This workshop will explore the different body systems and their role in supporting three dimensional movement and posture, allowing us new experiences of strength, balance, volume, and connectivity. New Relationships In The Practice of Yoga

Yellow Tree Yoga, Troy, Ohio
June 29 - 30, 2019

This workshop explores how our practice changes when we shift our attention to the contents of the body. Organs, fascia and other types of connective tissue all are part of our internal environment. They have an important role in supporting three-dimensional movement and posture, providing fullness and buoyancy from within, and give us new experiences of volume, fluidity, and connectivity. When embodied, they illuminate internal relationships and pathways from inner to outer expression, and create opportunities to re experience ourselves in the practice of yoga.

FOR SOMATIC PRACTIONERS

Grateful Yoga, Evanston, IL
July 28, 2019

The first year of life is crucial in the development of a child, and the adult the child will eventually become. During this time, an infant is forming the patterns of movement, perception and organization of information on which it will build its relationships to itself, others and the world. Facilitating development during this time can greatly enhance a child’s physical, emotional and intellectual abilities.

BABIES AND THIER CAREGIVERS

While adults await the video-worthy landmarks of sitting, crawling and walking, many other discoveries are taking place. Our bodily experiences as infants support all future development, influencing our adult capacity for self-awareness, effective movement and healthy relationship.

HOMEOSTASIS: ENDOCRINE TISSUES,
NERVE & IMMUNE SYSTEMS

DALLAS YOGA CENTER • DALLAS, TX
APRIL 26-28, 2019

Homeostasis is a dynamic and shifting state of constant communication and interresponsiveness. The Endocrine, Nervous and Immune Systems play a primary role in shaping and modulating this organism-wide balance. When we clarify the roles of these systems we begin to unravel commonly held assumptions about specific things like sympathetic / parasympathetic, the role of the pituitary gland, or the idea that immune cells are all about defense, as well as bigger ideas about balancing ‘being and doing.’ Exploring homeostasis can help us understand personal and transpersonal states of consciousness, and change how we perceive ourselves in the moment and in the environment.

SYNTHESIS: Diaphragms, Breath & Sound

DALLAS YOGA CENTER • DALLAS, TX
2 Weekends: Aug 2-4 & Oct 11-13, 2019

When we look at the interconnectedness of sound, breath and body we find infinite ways to bring potency and vibration into all the body tissues. Our many diaphragms shape and modulate movement through the body, sounding brings vibration to every cell, and the breath animates and unifies. Together they create a bridge between our internal experience and the outer environment, and offer whole-body integration, resonance and relatedness.

Why embodiyoga®?

Embodiment is a process, it is that infinitely incremental absorption, that slow realization of fractional shift, which has drawn me deeper and deeper into the study of EmbodiYoga® with Lisa Clark. Teaching yoga is my fourth career, I spent a decade and a half working in libraries and museums, running a fine print business, beginning to raise a family and shuffling between yoga teachers before I made the decision to take a leap into yoga as a full-time integrated way of life......READ MORE
