DATES: July 28, 2019

Even when it seems like babies are "just lying on the floor", they are actually learning vital movement skills. While adults await the video-worthy landmarks of sitting, crawling and walking, many humble discoveries are taking place. Our bodily experiences as infants support all future development, influencing our adult capacity for self-awareness, effective movement and healthy relationship.

In this unique workshop, you will learn to observe, appreciate and facilitate your baby’s movement and sensory development.

We will cover developmentally relevant topics for newborns to 7 months, such as:

•  how to support your baby’s sense of safety, comfort and bonding

• techniques for nurturing touch and handling

•  the benefits of lying on all four sides (not just back and tummy!)

• encouraging your baby’s ability to self-regulate

These group sessions are structured as open exploring time. We will follow your baby, not dictate. Parent or caregiver must be present with child the entire session and are expected to participate. Space very limited - register soon!

“The greatest gifts we can give a child are a sense of physical and emotional well-being, a sense of comfort and bonding, the joy of being, curiosity, confidence, the ability to relate to others, and organizational and problem-solving skills” - Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen

Infant Developmental Movement Education is based on principles of Body-Mind Centering®. Valuing process over milestones and respecting each child’s timing as their whole self develops
